25 years of History
When we bought the land in the fall of 1999, the idea was a simple one: we wanted to establish a family vineyard in one of Quebec's most beautiful regions. On September 1, 2007, eight years and four children later, we finally opened our doors, offering six different wines.
The owners, Françoise and Martin, come from Quebec's Bois-Francs region, Victoriaville and Warwick to be precise. We discovered this wonderful region through our love of free flying, Mont Yamaska being a favourite of hang gliding and paragliding enthusiasts.
Soil preparation began in 2001 and the first vines were planted in 2003. In 2005, we had our first harvest, which we fortified and flavoured with maple syrup it became our Sirocco 2005. In 2006, the harvest was abundant. We made five different wines; two white, a rosé, and two red wines.
The construction of both the winery and the house began in the fall of 2005 and was completed in the fall of 2007. In building, we respected the English-style architecture of the country road we are located on, known to the locals as "le Rang des Anglais" or "English Road", for many Anglophones once lived there. The house and winery look as if they have been there forever.
Rang de la Montagne is the site of a collection of religious buildings that were classified as historical in 2004. They include the Anglican St. Paul's Church, built in 1822, its cemetery, presbytery and parish hall, as well as the Abbotsford United Church.
We make authentic premium quality, balanced and rich wines, elaborated from 5 grape varieties cultivated on our land. The grapes are hand harvested, pressed and aged to perfection.
Our wines have won over 25 medals and honours over recent years in numerous Quebec, Canadian and international contests.
The sites we’ve chosen on the western slopes of Quebec's Mont Yamaska, overlooking the Montérégie Valley have enormous potential.
A Legacy in the Making
- 2017 – Closed to the public (open by reservation only)
- 2018 – Land expansion and site development
- 2023 – Addition of 7 hectares of new vines
- 2024 – First harvest of our Vinifera grapes
- 2025 – Rebranding and new identity, along with the unveiling of La Halte DLPC
- 2026 – Celebrating our 25th Anniversary
